Black Swan plus No Other Woman

I was alone at home when I woke up. My mom was at her office. My brother's at his school. My football training got cancelled that day. My day officially sounds boring already.

But after I ate my lunch alone...

THIS TWO WONDERFUL PEOPLE CAME :"> We watched "Black Swan" an American movie and "No Other" a Filipino movie.

A Week At Home

This whole week I'm just at home. Well, expect for this one day that I have to enroll for our second semester in UST. I'm glad to tell you that I'm still a regular student but eight of us are now irregular. I hope I was able to do something to avoid this to happen.

One of them was even my seatmate. But never mind this, more detailed story will be found along my week.

My Monday was such a painful day for me. You know how hurtful it is to await and plan for so long for something you are excited about but then... you suddenly don't wake up early. I planned to go to my friend's house at 5 in the morning and we'll set off at 6:30 am to go to Tanay already. But what happened? I overslept until 10:30am ... I got 48 missed calls from different people. 

I asked them to wait for me there and I'm on my way after awhile. Then, I found my cousins here at home!! What made it worse? My uncle was also here. What was worse than him coming? Him telling me not to go anymore. I begged to death for him to allow me. But nooooo, everything was packed already. Then, this. 

Time to tell it to my friends. I know they'd get angry. I'm sure. Luckily, I have the most understanding friends ever so they accepted the idea that I'm not going after all. They weren't contacting me in the afternoon but fortunately when evening strikes they called me and shared some stories of their adventures of the day.

The evening got deeper and most of them were tipsy or drunk already. They all sounded so funny and tired and drunk and so deep inside while talking to them my mind was laughing. During their spin the bottle, I even spectated and gave them all the questions I want to hear the answers. It turned out to be so vague and uninteresting after all. 

They have to sleep already because it's already Tuesday. Jess' dad was with them all throughout. Aj, Justin and Nheil, kept me awake by calling me from time to time. You should have listened to them because the next day that they talked to me, they don't even remember what they were talking about. 

Enough of the plan I wasn't able to go, my Monday and Tuesday were all about series!! Revenge and Jane By Design. I haven't finished watching both episodes since I'm kind of busy blogging and talking to people on facebook. I enjoy socializing than watching by myself you know. 

Finally Wednesday came and it's my enrollment! I had fun! I'm happy to see most of my blockmates again and we still are one block even if some of us were irregular already. We played billiards and discovered that we'd be able to play often because our break's long enough for playing and for eating. Whenever we win, it feels so encouraging to play again. But, of course, the day has to end and I have to leave already.

Once again at home and continued until Friday.

The Maya Kitchen: Cooking Class with Executive Chef of Mandarin Oriental

Saturday morning, my mom was able to share with me class which I'd be able to learn some cooking and/or baking techniques. Even though I was by myself, I enjoyed a lot. I really really enjoyed a lot. I was even full. I learned a lot of tips from Executive Chef Rene Ottlik.

I envy this man! I seriously envy him! He works at Mandarin Oriental Manila, which means he serves such extraordinary dishes to famous people around the Philippines or even around the world. He has shared God's given talents of him such as cooking and preparing.It's such an ease for him to cook this recipes. They know the techniques you may or may not use. Summary I swear I love how he taught and demonstrated to us the different recipes below.

Here are just some photos I took that day. If you're hungry right now then beware... This might make you eat your laptop.

Fritata Sweet Pork with Orange Olive Tapenade, Tomato Top & White Balsamic Dressing

The Fritata serves as a delicious appetizer. When I was able to taste its delight, it becomes a full meal view to me. It has proteins and vegatables. I can always eat this on its own, even without carbohydrates. It looks so delightful even. The colors are attention getters and it will really make you drool on it before even eating it.

Crispy Chicken Croquettes with Garlic Alioli

I'm telling you this has the strongest taste of all!! The Garlic Alioli was surprisingly bombing. What do I mean by this? Once it gets into your mouth, the scent, the taste, the texture, it explodes inside your mouth! Really delicious! This is one of my favorites actually, because it look so ordinary, simple and normal on the outside. You might even think of this as something processed that is sold somewhere. BUT NO! Seriously... I can die when I will be able to perform this recipe.

Gazpacho

Ahhh! The Gazpacho or as the chef calls it, the "cold soup." This dish gave me goosebumps when I tasted it. Just like the croquettes and alioli, the taste of this Gazpacho explodes in your mouth. The garlic bread beside it, even adds to the wonder of this dish! The texture of the bread complimented with the texture of the soup! It's soup but it was presented in a glass. It's not a problem, it still captures my taste buds.

Smoked Salmon Tartar stuffed inside a Cucumber strip with Sour Creme & Black Pepper Crisp on top

I LOVE THIS! The Salmon... AMAZING... OUTSTANDING.. I can't even say more about it. It's just perfect for me. The watery cucumber really really compliments with the salmon and the sour creme which adds a wildness of its taste which just makes the Salmon taste better. I won't forget the crisp... cause it serves as the hard part of the recipe. Since, the salmon, the sour creme and the cucumber are obviously soft, the crisp of the black pepper crisp makes it perfect! IT IS REALLY PERFECTION.

Almond Sponge Cake

I'm speechless. This was made just in a snap! Maybe, its because the chef used a special instrument upon making this and yes, time will not bother the taste of it product. Its a combination of sweet and soury taste of dessert. It has sweets and fruits! You can even put anything you want as long as it compliments the Almond Jelly.

This became my lunch and guess what... I haven't finished everything yet, but I'm already full. SO DELICIOUS! I'm telling yo, even these small servings can be a big meal when you eat it all together.

MACAROONS! An additional treat by the chef. 

He didn't teach it to us but we were able to taste its goodness. It even looks so pleasing and elegant. I wanna learn it soon.

October 19, 2012 : One of the best college days of my 2012

I call it my college day since I am in college, but those people I'm with our those people that made my highschool years the best. And so, this became my BEST COLLEGE day, and it'a Friday. 

My morning is only for the best 3 people, or rather the best sisters I have ever. Even though one of us was not present, we managed to update ourselves with the most recent happenings of our college lives. Our group's called MaMi Ni Ja, because it's the first 2 names of our first names. I actually mentioned them in one of my blogs. You should check it out.

Anyway, you may be wondering why we had a bonding during the morning which often happen. It's because our friends Nicole Trinidad has classes in the afternoon. Mitzi Rosal wasn't around sadly, well, she told us she's sick so it's fine and understandable. It's just sad that these kinds of days happen almost once in a blue moon and she wasn't able to go. How sad.

We ate at Banapple!! The food was really delicious, most especially their cheesecakes!!

We were bloated!! WE FELT SO FAT!! And we rode a cab even though the places were close to each other. A cab from Mcdo Katipunan to Banapple and another from Banapple to Spa101.

We finished our foot spa, manicure & pedicure at exactly one o'clock so the both of them left already. I waited at Mcdo for the Sinigang Peepz. 

I waited for so long, for your information. And finally they came and this is another wonderful part of the day. 

Haj wasn't able to bring his car cause its coding so, he got his sister's car. Lauren and Kyo rode with him, while Me, Aaron, Angela & Claud grabbed a cab to Eastwood. The others waited just to feel cool about convoying. LOL. Funny moments. 

We came to Eastwood at around 5, and YOLO. We drank at Happy Lemon and told some stories about the new girls of the Siniguys. And how jealous we are because we are not their number 1 girls anymore. So, for that, we just played at Timezone.

After we played at Timezone, we decided to eat at Bigoli before we drink. Well, I didn't eat because I still feel so full with all we ate during breakfast. I can't believe it hasn't burned inside me yet. I don't want to sin Gluttony so I didn't order anymore. The guys even thought that I was really hungry. But I wasn't I'm sure with that.

We did this at the center of the table... and mine WAS at the bottom, I was supposed to win. But, Moze called, she's also part of Sinigang but she came from UST, a far far place so she's trying to catch with us even if it's late already.

Ali Lapasaran was able to catch us here at Bigoli's even if it's getting nearer to 9 which people would start leaving already.

Hyped after or while eating...

Know why I'm looking away from the camera... cause I thought the camera's the earphones socket. OHEM.

They did this to me. :)) They're trying to make me jealous of the food their sharing. WTH. But, I wasn't convinced. Oh well. I'm just not that "appetited" =)) If there's such word.

 By the way all pictures came from Angela's iPad!! Thanks for uploading girl!! Our adventure didn't end immediately. We drank at Gwellos afterwards, Moze came and etc. Updating ourselves with our new stories. So happy I have them.

It must have been happier if all the others were also there. Most especially Tricia, so sad that she wasn't able to go with us. I'm quite jealous of her friends now in college because she goes out with them more often than us.

Anyway, it's such an awesome moment that my friend Aj was also at Eastwood so I tried to introduce him to Sinigang. But it's hard with all the happiness around. That's my awesome Friday.
