Just Turning Seventeen

September 24, 2012 ... The day I turned 17. I can't believe it. I kept on thinking that after I turn 16, the next ones 18 already. HAHA. I'm not used to telling people that I'm 17, 'cause this is like the age wherein you already plan for your debut. The moment I turn 18 is seriously unbelievable since I really want a blast 18th birthday. It's like I'm graduating from being a teenager or a child even. It marks greater responsibility for me. But enough of that. I want to tell you the story of my birthday.

Wirh Kimverly Pagdanganan! (credits to Louise Castro) I hope you were there too.
This day is one of my birthdays that I will never forget. Not only that it was my birthday, but it was also the day where the University of Santo Tomas welcomes us, the Freshmen population, in the community. Even though it was a month left before we finish our first semester, they were still able to organize this grand entrance of ours.

This is just one of the many pictures taken when we were walking. And this is not everybody.
DURING THE THOMASIAN WELCOME WALK
With Ate Sette, Garred, Pamy, Miggy, Jess, Cris, Kim, Colleen, Randy, Lyn & Kenot

The first few hours were just my usual daily moments. I even slept late the day before so I can see those messages that my friends would send me at exactly 12 midnight. All their messages were so sweet and flattering. Which again made me miss them more. I hope I see them really really soon.

Those days before my birthday was already a celebration since my co-society members were also here for our Cheerdance practice. You can see my story in my precious blog. So, my morning began smoothly. I woke up happily. I feel like I'm a floating cloud and I didn't have a hard time standing up from bed since it was my day. We have to be in school very early in the morning so we could prepare for our ever delayed Thomasian Welcome Walk. My classmates greeted me with smiles and everything. They even stopped cramming for our English homework just to greet me.

And then, the moment came where everybody's acting weird and everything because Kim was late. So, there they were; singing me a happy birthday song while reaching our this baby bottle piggy bank, kikay gifts and a trolli pizza gummy. I so love the start of my birthday.

Our walk started and is it just me, but I think everyone's really really hyper. We were jumping and photobombing all the pictures. We all wanted to be taken pictures with. It was really fun once your with 1AM. The best class I swear. I think you can never be down when your with them. All those pick-up lines, corny jokes and teased love teams. Happiness is what you get when you have them.

We brought this energy upto the end of our walk which is in the Quadricentinial Pavilion. A lot of picture taking, a lot of laughing, a lot of greetings from other people. I can never forget every moment that day. After  our walk, we still had 2 other classes before we went to our house. So, I'm sure you don't want to know what happened in our classes.

After our break, we went to the Org Room and bumped into Ate Jane and Ate Sette. We went there just to chill and of course feel the breeze of the airconditioning. The highlight of this is Ate Jane's Red Velvet Cupcake for me. It's so delicious!! It made me miss baking. And I will soon bake cupcakes again.

Just a funny picture of me and Kim before we went to English class. LOL

With Ate Sette, the president of the Mathematical Society <3 She wanted a picture with the birthday girl. :">
Almost the whole 1AM went here at home. It's weird because most of them was just a short notice. I even thought no one will come. But NO. Almost everyone went with us. Well, actually half of them went with me during the afternoon, we rode 2 jeepneys. No one got lost since some of my classmates namely Aj, Justin & Keith went here already. They came first and we looked like we're having a parade.

My Ate was shocked since we were approximately 27 inside the house. It wasn't everyone but surely it's more than half of our class. The food wasn't enough and I even ordered outside so no one would not be able to eat. We watched movies such as Katy Perry the movie and The Road. But, sadly some of them needed to go back to UST already. They were just on "takas" state. Just to burn time. Can you believe it? From Manila, they went here in Cubao. It's still an hour travel, you know.

Jess, Nheil, Louise, Kay, Miguel, Katie & Jeremy were left here and 4 of them were already in their pajamas. We still watched and watched movies then my family came. It's hard to entertain everyone when it's your birthday. On the other hand, I'm still really glad that their presence is with me during my birthday. That's always the one gift I've always wanted to get. Presence.

The day didn't end without any conflicts. When my other classmates went here, those who're gonna sleep over my tito got angry because they were all guys. I wasn't expecting a lot of them but I think they were every guy of our class. I think they were all tired because some of them were sleeping already after eating. We watched a lot of movies still and they were playing Dota later on.

I slept upstairs and I asked Katie to go sleep upstairs also since they were all boys. That's how my birthday ended. But of course there's the aftermath, but I'd blog it in my next post. It might even be more interesting than this.
